ABOUT US

FCAA is building a Finnish collegiate sports culture where physical activity, competition, and community are a natural part of everyday student life. We bring together students from different academic fields and universities, offering opportunities to play, compete, and share experiences. Our goal is for an increasing number of students to find their own team, community, and passion for staying active during their studies.

Our roots lie in the Business Students’ Finnish Championship ice hockey tournament, which eventually grew into a national league uniting students across various disciplines. The inaugural FCAA season was played in 2023–2024, and in 2025, our operations expanded to include American football. Originally born out of a student initiative, our organization continues to be built in collaboration with the teams and university communities.

Today, FCAA Hockey and FCAA American Football bring together dozens of teams from across Finland. League play, matches, and tournaments provide shared experiences throughout the academic year. Each spring, the season culminates in the FCAA Finals—events where the battle for the championship, an electric fan atmosphere, and vibrant student culture all come together.

Our operations are driven by the students and built on community and equality. We strive to lower the barrier to participation and support teams in their day-to-day operations. We develop our activities transparently, listen to the students involved, and work actively toward a safe, responsible, and respectful sports culture. Alongside the players, this community is built by coaches, team staff, event organizers, and fans.

To us, sports are a way to strengthen both the physical and mental well-being of students, as well as their sense of belonging. Shared practices, road trips, and matches forge friendships across academic disciplines and city limits, creating memories that last long after graduation. Our goal is to make collegiate sports an increasingly visible and permanent part of Finnish student life.
